Optional analytics
With your consent, Google Analytics measures visits, pages viewed, approximate location and device/browser information. Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings of interactions such as clicks, scrolling and navigation so we can understand how the site is used and improve it. These services receive technical information, including your IP address and browser details.
Neither service loads until you choose Accept. Reject keeps both off; you can use the whole site either way. We request analytics consent only, with advertising storage and Google advertising personalisation disabled. We do not send contact-form messages to these services.
What is stored?
- Your choice: cub-cookie-consent-v1 in this browser’s local storage, for 180 days. This necessary preference remembers acceptance or rejection; it is not an analytics identifier.
- Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_* cookies distinguish browsers and sessions. We set their lifetime to 180 days; they may be refreshed on visits while consent is active.
- Microsoft Clarity: _clck remembers a browser identifier and preferences (up to one year); _clsk connects page views into a session (up to one day). See Microsoft’s cookie information for service details.
Change your mind whenever you like
Use the small Cookies button at the bottom left of any page, then choose Reject to withdraw consent. If analytics has already started, the page reloads to stop both services, and we remove their accessible cookies on this domain. Withdrawal does not undo data already collected. Clearing browser storage also resets your choice. We ask again after 180 days.
Service providers and your rights
Google and Microsoft process analytics data under their service terms and may process it outside the UK. Their notices explain their processing, retention and international-transfer safeguards: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement. Cookie expiry is separate from the providers’ retention of collected analytics data.
You can contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of personal data, or to raise a privacy concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Other site services
Cloudflare hosts and secures this site. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile for spam prevention and Resend to deliver your name, email address and message to Jb so he can reply. The form fields are masked from Clarity. Opening the coffee checkout loads Stripe’s embedded payment form and necessary payment and fraud-prevention technologies. Payment details go directly to Stripe, not through our servers. Stripe’s privacy information applies. An optional link also opens Stripe in a separate tab.
